It's getting easier to keep in touch with our teacher between retreats. We have discovered many dharma talks by Thich Nhat Hanh on the web. We watch a video periodically during our days of mindfulness or days off at home. Just watching Thich Nhat Hanh is a teaching. Note how he walks, how he erases the board during this video "Throwing Away", a dharma talk from the Breath of the Buddha retreat in 2006. He shares how attachment to views, even ones such as impermanence, can trap us and that we must throw away these attachments.
In the 2005 dharma talk "To Touch Life, Come Home to Yourself", Thay shares the practice of taking refuge in the island of self. We don't need faith or a creed. When we practice mindfulness, our lives become a teaching.
We hope you will watch these videos and comment below, thus creating a video sangha!
Love and smiles,
David and Bethany
